Gianluca Zanna's music reached 511 radio stations across six continents last month — sent from an off-grid ranch in the Arizona backcountry, on solar power and a satellite connection

Somewhere in ARIZONA — September 5, 2026
August was the biggest month in the history of independent label Zanna Records. Founder and artist Gianluca Zanna's YouTube channel gained 26,500 subscribers — more than doubling in four weeks — and recorded nearly 6 million views in 30 days.

His records were detected on radio stations in Berlin, Brasília, Medellín, Lisbon, Lima, Charleston and Darwin, bringing the label's worldwide footprint to 511 stations across 99 countries and six continents.

None of it was sent from a studio in Los Angeles, London or Berlin. It was sent from an off-grid ranch in the wilderness of east Arizona, 15 miles from the nearest town, with no connection to the electrical grid.

What off-grid actually means
The ranch runs on solar / battery / generator. Internet arrives by satellite Starlink. There is no mains power, no municipal water / no mail delivery, and the road becomes impassable after heavy rain.
Zanna has worked from the property mastering, artwork, radio submissions, station correspondence in five languages, and the airplay tracking behind a 511-station database are all handled there, by one person.
“When the batteries are low, I stop working. That is the whole arrangement. There is no engineer down the hall, no plugger, no label behind me — and no power company either. What I have is the songs and a connection that works most days. Berlin does not know or care where the file came from. That is the part that still amazes me.”

A month measured three ways

26,500 new YouTube subscribers in August — the channel's best month on record, taking it past 64,000
5,999,398 views in the 30 days to 2 September, against 45.9 million lifetime
Seven new radio stations across five countries, including FluxFM in Berlin, where a single broadcast reached 382,000 listeners
The new stations span four continents: FluxFM 100,6 in Berlin; Rádio JK 102.7 FM in Brasília, the label's first in the Brazilian capital; Brutal 91.9 FM in Medellín; RES FM 107.9 in Portugal's Santarém district; Energy 98 in Beaverton, Oregon; The Beat in Charleston, West Virginia; and the dance platform Evolution in the United States.

From freedom songs to dance floors
Zanna spent roughly fifteen years writing freedom songs before returning to dance music. The turn came in January 2020, when he flew to Paris to meet a producer whose records he had admired for years, hoping for a collaboration. Nothing came of the trip. He returned to Arizona and began producing dance records again — including “You Are My Destiny,” the song now driving most of his international airplay.
His earlier release “Wake Up America” appeared in more than 100,000 creator videos totalling over 22 million TikTok views and was licensed to the public radio program This American Life.
His latest single, “Cuba Libre (Rising)” — featuring Rudy Sarzo, Robert Sarzo and Jizzy Pearl — has drawn 1 million plays and has begun earning radio detections of its own.
Zanna ranks in the top 5% of streamed songwriters worldwide.
