Nogoum FM — Egypt's first private radio station — joins the BBC, Ireland's national broadcaster, and Germany's NDR 1 among the stations carrying Gianluca Zanna's music, built with no major label from an off-grid ranch in the Arizona high desert.

SEDONA, ARIZONA — Zanna Records confirmed today that its catalog now airs on 490 radio stations across 99 countries and territories on six continents, verified through WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) and Songstats. Among the most striking placements: Nogoum FM 100.6 in Cairo — Egypt's first private radio station and one of the most influential broadcasters in the Arab world — has aired “You Are My Destiny (Future Remix)” by Italian-American artist Gianluca Zanna.
Cairo: the Arab world's No. 1 hit station
Nogoum FM launched on May 10, 2003 from the Egyptian Media Production City as Egypt's first private radio station — and within a short time became the number one radio station in the Arab world, credited with changing the form and content of Egyptian radio and bringing listeners back to the medium. It bills itself as “The Middle East's No.1 Arabic Current Hit Radio Station,” won Best Radio Station at the sixth Arab Satellite Festival in 2015, and launched its own television channel that same year. Its audience skews 15–34; its playlist is Arabic contemporary hits.
Which makes the placement itself the story: an EDM remix, written and produced by an Italian immigrant to the United States, airing in Arabic-language primetime radio in Cairo. “I don't speak Arabic. I have never been to Egypt. Nobody at that station owes me a favor,” Zanna said. “Someone there simply liked the record. That is the only currency I have ever had.”

The company Cairo keeps
Nogoum FM joins a roster of broadcasters that would be notable for any independent label. In Germany, NDR 1 Niedersachsen has aired Zanna's music to a verified audience of 6,900,000 — the largest single-play reach in the catalog.

In the United Kingdom, the BBC has played his music, including BBC Radio York, with no submission from the label.

And in Ireland, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta — the Irish-language national service of RTÉ, and the world's only national radio station broadcasting entirely in Irish — picked up “You Are My Destiny (Remix)” unsolicited on July 10, then played it again on July 16.

The range extends further still. In Brighton, England, the DAB station Slack City — whose selectors include Coldcut's Matt Black and Jonathan More, and Colin Newman of the post-punk band Wire — is deliberately anti-playlist: every record on air is chosen by a human being.

In Mexico City, Beat 100.9 (XHSON-FM), a 100,000-watt licensed FM station owned by NRM Comunicaciones, carries his music alongside the country's biggest electronic acts.

The numbers, as of July 2026
• 490 radio stations across 99 countries & territories on 6 continents (WARM + Songstats verified)
• 22,700 YouTube subscribers and over 36.4 million total views (vidIQ certified)
• Ranked among the top 5% of streamed songwriters worldwide;

• 1.36 million monthly YouTube Music audience
• “Wake Up America”: 20+ million TikTok views from over 100,000 creator videos; licensed to the acclaimed public radio program This American Life
• In-store retail distribution via iPlugger with Mood Media (150 countries, 500,000 commercial locations) and, newly, Italy's M-Cube (400 brands, 45,000 installations, 106 countries) — reported separately from radio airplay
Built alone, from the high desert

Zanna Records operates with no major-label backing, no plugger, and no major promotional budget.
Zanna runs the label from a 20-acre off-grid property in the Arizona high desert — solar power, well water, satellite internet, and juniper in every direction. He arrived in the United States from Rome in 1998 with almost nothing, having watched a business collapse and spent roughly fifteen months living on the streets of Rome, performing as a costumed gladiator near the Imperial Forums.
His catalog now spans more than 150 original compositions across EDM, rock, classical, and operatic styles. “From a ranch where my nearest neighbor is a mile away, my music reaches Cairo, Dublin, Hannover, Mexico City,” Zanna said. “I am not a company. I am one man with songs and a satellite dish. If that can happen from here, it can happen from anywhere.”
