40 Million Views, Zero Industry Connections: How an Off-Grid Arizona Ranch Became a Global Music Operation

Independent label Zanna Records crosses 40,000,000 YouTube views with no major-label backing, no manager and no industry relationships — powered by a satellite dish bolted to a deck railing, a creative partnership, and songs that traveled on their own.
SEDONA, Ariz. — August 4, 2026 — Zanna Records today announced that the Gianluca Zanna Music YouTube channel has surpassed 40,000,000 lifetime views, a milestone certified by analytics platform vidIQ on August 4, 2026. The channel now carries 36,800 subscribers and ranks in the top 5% of creators in its class, drawing more than 1,034,000 views in a single week.
The number itself is not the story. The story is where it came from.
THE STUDIO HAS NO POWER LINES
Most of the videos behind those 40 million views were uploaded from an off-grid ranch in Apache County, in the high desert of eastern Arizona — twenty-plus acres of juniper, red dirt and open sky. There is no utility power. Electricity comes from solar. Water comes from a well. Waste goes to a septic tank. And the entire global distribution arm of Zanna Records runs through a single satellite internet dish resting on a wooden deck railing, pointed at the sky above the mesa.
There is no label marketing department. No radio plugger on retainer. No manager, no agency, no industry rolodex, no favors called in. Zanna Records was formed in December 2022 by founder and CEO Gianluca Zanna with no major-label backing whatsoever, and it has stayed that way.
“People assume there is a machine behind these numbers,” said Gianluca Zanna. “There is no machine. There is a satellite dish on a railing in the desert, a woman I love who makes every video with me, and songs I believe in. That is the whole company. The rest is just showing up every single day and refusing to quit.”
THE PARTNER BEHIND THE CAMERA
The second half of the equation is Claudette Lyons — singer of the EDM duo Luca and Claudette, and Zanna's creative and life partner. Together they have written, shot, styled and edited the music videos that carried the catalog around the world, filming across the Arizona desert, Tennessee, New York and Ireland-inspired sets, and starring in them themselves.
The results speak for the approach. The “You Are My Destiny” (Danny Saber Remix) video, featuring Joseph Wooten and starring Luca and Claudette, reached 1.1 million views in its first month. Across the channel, monthly viewership has held between 3 and 5 million since late 2025, peaking at 5.14 million in May 2026.

Television: ABC13 / KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas, where Luca and Claudette appeared in the “Top Leaders” segment of The Morning Blend on July 27, 2026; PIX11 New York; Fox News San Diego; NBC Palm Springs; and Italy’s RAI3 with 6 of Zanna songs placed in a sync deal with no connections.

The run traces back to September 2025, when Zanna and Lyons were named finalists in the America’s Next Top Hitmaker contest and traveled to New York for a Rolling Stone photo shoot — where they met keyboardist Joseph Wooten. The month that followed saw channel views jump from 107,000 to 4.56 million.
THE LATEST RECORDS
Released May 15, 2026, the rock single assembles a lineup most independent labels could never convene: Kevin Martin (Candlebox) on vocals, Rudy Sarzo on bass, Robert Sarzo on guitar and Robin Diaz on drums, produced by Danny Saber, with Gianluca Zanna as songwriter and executive producer. Zanna Records supported it with a self-built, verified-contact-only radio campaign covering all 50 states.
Released June 21, 2026 as a dual release — the Zanna Records Remix and the Danny Saber Remix — the instrumental soul remake is a collaboration with three-time Grammy-nominated keyboardist Joseph Wooten (Steve Miller Band, The Wooten Brothers). The accompanying video was shot at Wooten’s Franklin, Tennessee estate. The song has since expanded into a family of versions, including an “Irish Love” edition featuring Claudette Lyons on electric violin and Sergio Rebello on cello, and a Classical Irish Opera version completed in July 2026.
“Cuba Libre / Exilio”
Written by Zanna in 2005 after a vivid dream of Cuban streets, protests and hungry children, “Cuba Libre / Exilio” was re-recorded in July 2026 at Clear Lake Studios in Los Angeles. The session features Rudy Sarzo and Robert Sarzo — brothers born in Havana who fled Castro’s Cuba as children in 1961 — alongside Jizzy Pearl, Ruben Martinez, Robin Diaz and Claudette Lyons, produced by Danny Saber with Zanna as executive producer. Rudy Sarzo is donating his entire performance fee to a non-profit. The original 2005 recording resurfaced organically on TikTok among Cuban activists, prompting the new version, which will be submitted for both Grammy and Latin Grammy consideration.
WHAT THIS ACTUALLY PROVES
Forty million views did not require permission. They required songs worth hearing, a partner willing to build every video by hand, and enough bandwidth from a satellite in orbit to push the files uphill. Everything else — the charts, the 495 stations, the television segments, the Times Square screen — followed from that.
“I came to this country with nothing and I built this from a ranch with no power lines,” Zanna said. “If you have a great song and you are willing to work, the gatekeepers are optional. That is the only message I care about sending.”
