The interview chronicles Rudy’s extraordinary journey from Cuban refugee to rock legend and the fulfillment of an Italian boy’s American Dream

April 7, 2026 SEDONA, AZ — Gianluca Zanna, founder and CEO of Zanna Records, has released an intimate 14-minute video interview with Rudy Sarzo, one of rock music’s most celebrated bass players, known for his iconic work with Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, and Dio.
The interview was filmed at Clear Lake Studios in Los Angeles during the recording sessions for “Live With No Regrets — Analog Rebellion,” a new rock project produced by Zanna Records.
A Journey from Cuba to Rock Royalty
In the interview, Rudy Sarzo speaks candidly about his early life, leaving Cuba at age 11 as a refugee with his family — including his brother, guitarist Robert Sarzo — and arriving in Miami with nothing but determination and a dream. From those humble beginnings, Rudy would go on to perform alongside some of rock history’s greatest artists, etching his name permanently into the annals of rock and roll.

A Full-Circle American Dream
The interview takes an emotional turn as Gianluca Zanna — who immigrated to the United States from Rome, Italy in 1998 — reflects on what this collaboration means to him personally.
Rudy also discusses the bass guitar he played during the recording of “Live With No Regrets — Analog Rebellion,” sharing his perspective on the project and the music of Gianluca Zanna.

“When I was a boy in Italy, I played bass with my brother while watching Rudy Sarzo on MTV.
I dreamed of one day coming to America and making music at this level. Rudy, without knowing it, was part of my American Dream long before we ever met. Recording with him at Clear Lake Studios is one of the most meaningful moments of my life.”
