SEDONA, ARIZONA — Zanna Records confirmed today that the catalog of independent artist Gianluca Zanna now airs on 493 radio stations across 99 countries and territories on six continents, verified through WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) and Songstats. Read as a list, it is an airplay report. Read as a map, it is something stranger: the same songs, playing in places that will not play anything else in common.
The map nobody planned
Zanna's music airs on 14 stations across nine Arab countries — Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and the United Arab Emirates — including Nogoum FM 100.6 in Cairo, Egypt's first private radio station and one of the most influential broadcasters in the Arab world, and Alif Alif FM 94.0 in Riyadh.
It airs on 11 stations across Turkey, from Istanbul to Diyarbakır.
And it airs on 10 stations across Israel — Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Rishon LeZiyyon, and, most recently, Radio Kol HaYam HaAdom in Eilat, on the shore of the Red Sea.
On a single day in April 2026, his music aired in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
It has been played by a Russian Orthodox station in Cheboksary, by Sancta Maria Radio in Beirut, by Radio Maria in Kampala, and by the BBC in the United Kingdom.
In Ireland, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta — the world's only national radio station broadcasting entirely in Irish — picked up his work unsolicited, twice in one week.
And in Kingston, Jamaica, Omega KLAS Radio recently aired “For You” — one of the first songs Zanna ever wrote when he came to America in 1998.
The point is that it was ordinary
None of this was a campaign. There was no peace initiative, no cultural exchange programme, no press push, no plugger. The stations in Riyadh and Tel Aviv are commercial music stations doing what commercial music stations do: a music director heard a record and put it on the air. Neither knew what the other was doing. Neither would have cared.
“That is exactly the point,” Zanna said. “Nobody in Cairo was making a statement about Israel. Nobody in Eilat was making a statement about Saudi Arabia. They just liked the song. If you set out to unite people with music, you make propaganda. If you just write the best song you can and send it into the world, sometimes the world quietly does the uniting for you — without announcing it, without a ceremony, without anyone's permission.”
“I am an Italian immigrant who lives on a dirt road in the Arizona desert,” he added. “No one at any of these stations checked my passport, my religion, or my politics. They checked whether the record was any good. That is the only border I have ever had to cross.”
A song from a night shift, twenty-five years later
One of the songs now traveling the world is among the oldest in the catalog. “For You” — recently played on Omega KLAS Radio in Kingston, Jamaica — was written in 2000, not long after Zanna arrived in the United States, during the years he worked nights as a security manager at Mirabelle, a restaurant in West Hollywood. The vocal was sung by Ruben Martinez. A quarter of a century later, a song written by a broke immigrant between security shifts is on the radio in the Caribbean.
Built alone, from the high desert
Zanna Records operates with no major-label backing, no plugger, and no promotional budget. Zanna runs the label from a 20-acre off-grid property in the Arizona high desert — solar power, well water, satellite internet. He arrived in the United States from Rome in 1998 with almost nothing, having watched a business collapse and spent roughly fifteen months living on the streets of Rome, performing as a costumed gladiator near the Imperial Forums. His catalog now spans more than 150 original compositions across EDM, rock, classical, and operatic styles.
