Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times & Aspiring Magazine) 3/16/26 – Sometimes the most extraordinary stories in music begin with something simple: a dream, a song, and the determination to share it with the world.
During a recent Zoom conversation with The Hollywood Times and Aspiring Magazine, musical duo Luca and Claudette Lyons joined me from Sedona, Arizona to talk about their remarkable journey behind the global success of their independent single, “You Are My Destiny.”
The track has now been played on radio stations in more than 39 countries, climbed international charts, and even reached No. 3 on the Amazon U.S. Dance Chart, all without the backing of a major label. For the duo, the journey has been nothing short of surreal.
For Luca, the story began decades ago while attending boarding school in Rome. As a young student, he dreamed about meeting a woman who would become his future partner and musical collaborator.

Years later, that dream became the inspiration for “You Are My Destiny.”
“Mostly I was a songwriter,” Luca explained during our conversation. “But after meeting Claudia, our work became a live performing project. We didn’t just write songs anymore, we produced them and learned how to market them ourselves.”

That shift transformed their creative partnership into something much larger: an independent music project that operates much like a small label, producing, promoting, and distributing their music worldwide.
An unexpected connection helped guide the next chapter of their journey.
Luca reconnected with music industry veteran Claes Cornelius, whom he had first met in 1995 while working in the European music publishing world. Cornelius had been involved with the legendary Mega Records, known for launching global pop acts like Ace of Base.
Thirty years later, fate intervened.

“I found him again on Facebook,” Luca said with a laugh. “We became friends, and now we’re even writing his life story together.”
Cornelius soon became a mentor to the duo and offered feedback on their music. In early 2025, after listening to their catalog, he made a bold prediction.
“He wrote to me and said, ‘You Are My Destiny is the song. That’s the one you should push,’” Luca recalled. It turned out he was right.
Without industry connections or major label promotion, the duo decided to take matters into their own hands.
From their computers, they began sending the song to radio stations around the world — one by one.
“From Albania to everywhere,” Luca said. “We just kept reaching out.”
The response was overwhelming.
Soon the song was receiving airplay across Europe and beyond. Major commercial radio stations began picking it up, and international distribution giant Mood Media added the track to its global music network, which reaches over 500,000 retail locations worldwide.
“We started seeing signs that something special was happening,” Luca said.
The momentum continued to grow. The song received media coverage in outlets including Rolling Stone UK and Forbes Scotland and gained traction on streaming platforms and radio playlists around the world.
For an independent act without corporate backing, the accomplishment was especially meaningful.
“We were the only artists on some of these charts who didn’t have a major company behind us,” Luca said. For Claudette Lyons, music has always been about something deeper than commercial success.
A classically trained electric violinist and performer, she shared how creativity helped her heal after losing both of her parents early in life.
“Music was a way for me to find strength and connection again,” she said. “And now our work together reflects our real lives, the blessings, but also the struggles.”
Their partnership has evolved into a creative collaboration that reaches beyond music into multiple forms of storytelling and personal development.
The couple is currently writing a book titled “You Are My Destiny,” which chronicles their journey from childhood experiences to their international music breakthrough.
“We want people to know that they should never give up,” Claudette said. “If a kid from Italy who didn’t speak English can come here and make this happen, anything is possible.”
The duo is also exploring innovative ways to connect with audiences outside the traditional music industry model.
This fall, they will host an intimate Sedona retreat during the fall equinox, limited to just ten participants.
The four-day experience will include:
Stargazing under Sedona’s internationally recognized dark skies
Live acoustic performances
Yoga and relaxation sessions
Hypnotherapy workshops
Self-defense and situational awareness training
The retreat reflects the couple’s philosophy that music and personal growth can work together to inspire transformation.
“We wanted to create something more than just a concert,” Claudette said. “It’s a full experience, body, mind, and spirit.”

Rather than performing in clubs or arenas, the shows will be broadcast directly from Sedona’s stunning desert landscapes, mountains, red rock formations, and open wilderness.
The performances will be free for viewers worldwide, supported by sponsorship partnerships.
“It’s a new way of sharing music,” Luca explained. “Instead of chasing gigs, we invite people into our world.”
For Luca and Claudette Lyons, the success of “You Are My Destiny” represents more than just a chart milestone. It’s proof that passion, persistence, and belief in a song can still breakthrough in today’s music industry.
Their story, equal parts love story, creative partnership, and independent music success, is continuing to unfold.
And if the song’s title is any indication, they believe the journey is only just beginning.
