From Aleppo to Prague: Zanna Records Reaches 95 Countries as Syria Becomes the Newest Nation to Air Zanna Records Without a Single Submission

Airplay on Ninar FM in Aleppo, Syria, and Radio 1 in Prague pushes the independent Arizona label past 430 stations across 95 countries proof that a song can cross the borders of language, culture, and religion on its own.

SEDONA, AZ — Zanna Records announced today that its music has reached its 95th country, as Ninar FM in Aleppo, Syria, placed “You Are My Destiny” into rotation — the first Syrian station to air the independent label's catalog. In the same week, Radio 1 in Prague, the Czech Republic's oldest independent broadcaster, added the same song. Neither play was solicited. As with the other 428 stations that came before them, no track was ever submitted.

The label's worldwide radio footprint now stands at 430 stations across 95 countries and six continents, independently confirmed through WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) and Songstats airplay monitoring.

One Song, Across Every Border

The two stations could hardly be more different. Ninar FM broadcasts in Arabic across Damascus, Aleppo, Lattakia, Homs, Hama, and Tartous, serving listeners in a country the world knows for what it has endured. Radio 1, on 91.9 FM in Prague, began as a pirate station broadcasting in 1990 from inside the pedestal of a former Stalin monument, and became the first privately owned radio station in what was then Czechoslovakia. One is Arabic and Middle Eastern; the other European and alternative. Both, on their own, chose to play the music of an Italian-American artist recording from the Arizona desert.

That is the heart of what Zanna Records calls the “Return of the Song”: the belief — shared with the label's mentor Claes Cornelius of Mega Records, Copenhagen — that a great song still crosses every border on its own merits, chosen by human programmers rather than algorithms, the way music once united audiences long before streaming playlists existed.

Music Without Passports

“I never sent this song to Aleppo. I never sent it to Prague.” said Gianluca Zanna, founder of Zanna Records. “Yet here it is — on the radio in Syria and in the Czech Republic in the same week. Music doesn't check your language, your religion, or your borders. It just asks whether it moves you. To reach 95 countries this way, one honest song at a time, is the proof I always believed in: real music still unites people that politics keeps apart.”

Global Airplay by the Numbers

Worldwide radio footprint: 430 stations across 95 countries on six continents (WARM + Songstats verified, July 2026).

Newest country: Syria (95th) — via Ninar FM, Aleppo.

Also newly added: Radio 1 (Prague, Czech Republic) and MXTR FM (United States).
